Sandra J. (Kemp) Yeomans

Sandy Yeomans of Newark New Jersey passed away on Wednesday March 1 st 2023 at the age of 85 after a short illness. She was the beloved wife of Dawson Yeomans for 50 years.

Mother of 4 (Tim Kramer, deceased); Karen Matthews; Kurt Kramer and Ken Kramer and blessed with 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Also blessed with the spouses of many.

As a retailer and manager for Sunshine Kitchens, Peoples Drug Stores, Woolworths, and Goodwill industries in the towns in which they lived (Honolulu Hawaii where they met and were married; Virginia Beach Virginia; Clinton New Jersey, Atlantic City New Jersey; St Louis Missouri and Newark New Jersey when she retired in 1998.

In retirement she managed the Care Closet at Christ Church in Belleville New Jersey until the church closed. In 2004, when Dawson retired, they founded together a non-profit 501c3 to help people in need for furniture, clothes, and household goods. These clients are referred by over 100 social service agencies and help furnish 15-20 households each week, It also keeps many tons of usable items out of the landfill. This is a totally volunteer organization with no paid staff but received 7,000 to 10,000 hours of volunteer time each year.
