Ricky Phillip Morrison

Ricky Phillip Morrison, 65, of Newark, NJ, passed away on Tuesday October 5, 2021. Visitation will be held at the Irvine-Cozzarelli Memorial Home, 276 Washington Avenue, Belleville, NJ, on Thursday October 7, 2021, from 4:00 o’clock in the afternoon until 7:00 o’clock in the evening. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Cremation will be private

Ricky was born in West Virginia and had served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as an auto mechanic for over thirty years.

Ricky was a person who worked extremely hard to provide for his family. He had a passion for cars and fishing. His greatest joy was watching his grandkids grow and spending time with family.  He is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Yolanda Ortiz Morrison; two sisters Rita Morrison and Ronda Morrison. His five children Jason Morrison, Tiffany Carvalloza, Natalie Mercado,Joshua Rivera and Brandon Morrison. He is also survived by his son in law Christopher Mercado, Daughter in laws Kassandra Morrison and LillyBeth Valentin. His Thirteen grandchildren Isaiah Guzman, Nadia Velez, Nariah Guzman, Tyler Carvalloza, Allison Carvalloza, Nathan Rivera, Joshua Rivera, Willow Rivera, Asher Morrison, Sasha Morrison, Carlow Colon and Darius Valentin. He is alos survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other family members. Ricky is preceded in death by his father Howard P. Morrison, mother Mary L. (nee Shrewsbury) Morrison, brother Laire Morrison and granddaughter Lilly Rose Rivera.
