Mercedes Ramirez

Mercedes Ramirez of Belleville, N.J. entered into eternal life on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at the age of 93. She was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico to the late Juan and Maria Ramirez. Mercedes had migrated to the United States over 50 years ago. She settled in Newark, N.J. for 25 years prior to moving to Belleville, N.J. 25 years ago.

Mercedes was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis of Assisi and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Association. When she was not spending time with her family Mercedes enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crafts of all types.

She is survived by her 10 living children, 32 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Guest will be received at the Irvine-Cozzarelli Memorial Home, P.A., 276 Washington Avenue, Belleville, N.J. on Thursday, July 22nd in the afternoon and evening from 4:00 to 8:00 o’clock. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Saint Peter’s R.C. Church, 155 William Street, Bellville, N.J. on Friday morning, July 23rd, 2021, at 11:00 o’clock. Those who wish to attend the funeral may gather at the funeral home at 10:00 o’clock. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, N.J.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to considered making a donation to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or American Cancer Society in Mercedes’ name.
